West Orange School Board, Teachers Union Reach 5-Year Deal
The West Orange Board of Education and the local teachers union have reached a tentative deal for a new, five-year work agreement.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Board of Education and the local teachers union have reached a deal for a new, five-year work agreement, district administrators announced Wednesday.
The board’s negotiating team signed a memorandum of agreement with their peers on the West Orange Education Association’s team, according to a statement from the district.
The collective negotiations agreement will run from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2025.

Both parties plan to present the proposed deal and accompanying salary guides to their respective memberships for review and ratification after the new year, administrators said.
“The West Orange Board of Education wants to take this opportunity to thank its teachers and staff for working collaboratively with the administration to serve the students of West Orange throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” district officials added.
