West Orange Schools Closed Tuesday Due To Snowstorm In Forecast

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Public schools in West Orange will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 13 due to the weather forecast.
Significant changes to this week’s winter storm forecast in New Jersey now include predictions of widespread heavy snowfall, coastal flooding and fierce winds capable of causing power outages, forecasters say.
A Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the West Orange area until Tuesday afternoon.

The West Orange Public School District issued the following announcement about Tuesday’s closure:
“Due to the weather forecast for snow resulting in poor road conditions, the West Orange Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, February 13, 2024. All district-wide events are canceled. Thank you.”
The ugly weather forecast has also spurred other changes and cancellations in West Orange. The town council meeting scheduled for Tuesday will be virtual only, and garbage/recycling collection is canceled.
