West Orange Schools Have Delayed Opening Due To Weather: Jan. 31
Due to forecasts of bad winter weather, West Orange public schools will have a delayed opening on Thursday, Jan. 31, officials said.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Due to forecasts of bad winter weather, West Orange public schools will operate on a delayed opening Thursday, Jan. 31, officials said.
"Due to extreme freezing temperatures, all schools will be on a 90-minute delayed opening schedule for Thursday, January 31," West Orange school officials wrote. "West Orange High School will begin at 9 a.m. Edison, Liberty and Roosevelt will begin at 9:40 a.m. The elementary schools will begin at 10:15 a.m. Cafeterias will serve lunch according to the delayed opening schedule. The morning Pre-K program is canceled. All bus students must be at their bus stop 90 minutes after their normal pick-up time. In the event that road conditions delay the busses, please be patient and dress accordingly as temperatures will be in the single digits."
West Orange school administrators’ announcement came amid freezing-cold weather on Wednesday. A “Code Blue” alert is in effect for Essex County from Wednesday, Jan. 30 to Saturday, Feb. 2.
