Girls soccer gains momentum, Boys Soccer lose to Livingston

West Orange pushed its record to 3-3 with a 50-7 beat down over the rival Seton Hall Prep Pirates on Saturday. Lance Smith led the Mountaineers with 167 rushing yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Austin Vanderhoof had a big day, scoring five total touchdowns (three passing, two rushing) and compiled over 300 yards of total offense.
Girls Soccer
Raven Edwards scored six goals in two games this past week, including a hat trick in the Essex County quarters on Saturday, in a 5-1 victory over Caldwell. The girls improved to 10-1 overall.

Boys Soccer
The boys won three of their four games in the past week, but lost a crucial one to Livingston in a surprising upset in the quarterfinals of the ECT on Saturday. They allowed just one goal all week long, and it was in their lone loss. Both Kazari Trought and Jelani Williams scored three goals and assisted twice in the week. They are 9-4.

Cross Country
The girls took fourth overall in the Super Essex Conference championship meet on Tuesday, getting a 12th place finish from Susannah Crowell to lead the way. Jared Mason took second overall in the meet for the boys with a 16:36.4 mark. The boys were seventh overall.
Girls Tennis
The 8-4 West Orange girls were ousted from the second round of the North I Group 4 state sectional championships by Montclair, 3-2 early in the week. West Orange is 8-4.
