West Orange Students Tap Into History Of Nursing Home Residents

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Students at West Orange High School recently tapped into a fascinating treasure trove of history that rests with the residents of the Daughters of Israel nursing home.
As part of a year-long project, the WOHS students visited several people living at the West Orange nursing facility, interviewing them and conducting oral histories on their lives.
The project – part of the students’ ninth grade World History Honors class – was spearheaded by the Jewish Historical Society of New Jersey, in conjunction with the Daughters of Israel.
