West Orange Town Hall Reopens From COVID; Masks Optional
West Orange residents with business at Town Hall are urged to keep their business brief and call ahead when possible.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange reopened Town Hall for in-person public services on Monday. Face masks are currently optional, although that may be subject to change, officials said.
West Orange town officials released the following information about the reopening:
“During the worldwide pandemic, West Orange Town Hall was forced to limit public access in 2020 over safety concerns for the public and township employees. All municipal services continued during this time period despite the inherent risks and challenges it presented. Township employees worked every day to provide residents with uninterrupted attention to resident’s needs under these modified circumstances.”

“In accordance with the latest CDC guidelines West Orange Town Hall will now resume in person contact effective today, March 7, 2022. Those residents having business that requires in person service can enter Town Hall during the regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. West Orange’s transmission rate is currently considered low by state standards which allows mask usage as optional. Changes to masking protocols and other requirements are subject to change and will be announced as the situation warrants.”
“Residents are urged to keep their business brief and call ahead when possible, during this phase of retuning to pre-COVID operations,” officials said.
Town officials said they are grateful for the public’s patience during the pandemic shutdown, and “look forward for a return of normalcy to the community.”
