On Friday, West Orange town officials announced that beginning Friday, June 1, local residents will be able to apply for a “West Orange identification card” as part of an effort to roll out a measure passed by the Town Council in September 2017.

The cards will be available to all West Orange residents, “including people who do not have a government ID,” municipal officials said.

West Orange officials said:

“The township clerk's office, which is handling the IDs, will be processing requests from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, at Town Hall, 66 Main Street, Room 101. The municipal ID card will display the resident’s full name, photo, home address, and date of birth and gender, height, weight, eye color and signature. Residents have to provide original documentation that includes a photo ID, their date of birth and proof they live in the township.”

The ID card costs $20 to process and is valid for three years. Cards must be returned to the township if a resident moves, officials said.
