West Orange Woman Hit By NJ Transit Bus, Awarded $10M: Report
Both of the West Orange woman's legs were amputated, a report says.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A West Orange woman was awarded $10 million after a NJ Transit bus ran her over in 2016. Both of her legs were amputated following the incident, a report says.
Claire Dertouzos, 65, was injured on May 28 while crossing Mount Prospect Avenue at Heller Parkway in Newark. She is now confined to a wheelchair, her attorney told the New Jersey Law Journal.
A lawsuit filed in Essex County Superior Court alleged that the driver didn’t see Dertouzos crossing the street in the crosswalk before striking her as he made a left turn, the Law Journal reported. (Read the full article here)
