Women’s Self-Defense Workshop In West Orange Draws Eager Crowd
The self-defense workshop was spearheaded by the United Asian Voices of West Orange, with the help of the West Orange Police Department.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — A self-defense workshop spearheaded by the United Asian Voices of West Orange recently drew a crowd of eager participants.
The Women’s Self Defense and Awareness Event was held at No Limit Martial Arts at 457 Mt Pleasant Avenue. The free community event was open to women and non-binary persons 13 and above.
“UFC better watch out,” wrote the West Orange Police Department, which was asked to co-host the workshop. “We got some tough fighters here in West Orange!”

Sgt. George Lopez, Officer Quentin DeMarco and Officer Chelsea Alexander “happily gave their time, bodies and energy to help out,” police reported.
“We also want to give a shout out to No Limit Martial Arts and the Guerrero family for hosting and Way of the Tiger Martial Arts for presenting as well” the WOPD stated. “This was a great event to bring people together and build some knowledge and confidence. Thanks for all who attended.”
