The talented teens placed 25th in the nation at the competition.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Several chess team members from West Orange High School recently competed in the K-12 High School Scholastic Chess Championships in Chicago, placing 25th in the country.
Five students took part in the competition, which ran from March 26 to March 30: David Milstein, Zander Venutolo, Sadiq Sekou, David Dedy, and Delmari Ferguson, who earned a medal for becoming the third-best player in the nation in the 1500 rating category.
The boys were chaperoned by chess team advisor and West Orange High School Social Studies instructor Ara Berberian and four parents. It was the first time that WOHS has traveled to the nationals.
