Zoo Beers: Turtle Back Preps For ‘Ales 'N Tails Oktoberfest’ 2017

Craft and food vendors, a live Oompah band and dozens of seasonal brews from around the world will be at the Turtle Back Zoo on Oct. 14.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Fascinating animals, craft and food vendors, a live Oompah band and dozens of seasonal brews from around the world will among the highlights of this year’s annual Ales 'N Tails Oktoberfest event at the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo.

According to a zoo event post, the 2017 event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 560 Northfield Avenue in West Orange.

Funds raised at Ales 'N Tails Oktoberfest will support the Essex County Parks Foundation, a 501c3 organization that supports local activities and programs in the county parks.

Tickets are $60 general admission and $15 for designated drivers. Purchase tickets here. Only guests ages 21 and over will be permitted. All guests must have a valid ID and possess a ticket.

“Please note that although this event takes place at the zoo, many areas will be closed and animals in for the night,” zoo staff stated. “We are excited to still welcome you into our Reptile House and Touch Tank exhibits and hope you take time to enjoy an evening train or carousel ride.”

Ales 'N Tails Oktoberfest will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, patrons and vendors will be able to access indoor/ covered space. All sales are final. No refunds will be given.
