Zufall Health's First West Orange Art Exhbition Begins September 12

WEST ORANGE, NJ -- Did you know that art can positively impact your health?

Zufall Health, a nonprofit community health center headquartered in Dover with a facility in West Orange, incorporates the therapeutic value of art into patient care through its Arts In Health program.

Zufall currently welcomes art submissions to an upcoming group exhibition called "New Beginnings" that will explore the themes of renewal, hope, and the beauty of starting anew. Professional and amateur artists of any ability may submit representational, abstract, and conceptual works of art, ranging from drawings, paintings, collage, and photographic and digital art. Sculpture cannot be accepted.

Submissions are due by Friday, August 23. Artists may submit up to 10 works for consideration. Find all submission rules here.

The opening reception for “New Beginnings” will be held on Thursday, September 12, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and is open to the public. In addition to original works of art, guests will be treated to light refreshments, wine, live music, and the opportunity to win a door prize gift basket. RSVP here. (FREE).

The exhibition marks Zufall’s first in West Orange after more than a decade of exhibitions in Dover. Arts In Health aims to add another dimension to the care Zufall provides by adding a sense of comfort and beauty to an atmosphere traditionally considered sterile, and helping to alleviate the anxiety of being in a medical setting. On a broader scale, Arts In Health reaches beyond Zufall patients and staff to culturally enrich the community by providing new channels for creative expression.
