The entire process is expected to take a few weeks and is funded from the Borough’s capital account with matching funds from the Bergen County Open Space Grant.

Playground upgrades started in 2007 at Meadowbrook Park, and continued at Voorhis Park, Westvale Park, Hegeman Park and Brookside Park over the past 18 years, borough officials said.

The new playground will include swings for infants and kids, a parent and infant swing, a dual child swing, slides, a buckle bridge, rope-venture and rock-wall climbing features, as well as a smaller toddler/preschooler area and an inclusive spinner feature designed for all sizes and abilities.

The playground will have all new borders that will contain almost 6000 sq. feet of new wood fiber playground surfacing. In addition, the new adjacent reading garden created by Troop 321 Eagle Scout Elisabeth Maul, that opened in April, will have two new outdoor musical pieces of equipment added to the space.

Residents will be notified to the start of construction via Community Pass emails and social media.
