WESTWOOD, NJ — Drivers in Westwood may encounter traffic delays and parking restrictions this week as Veolia crews conduct lead service line replacement work throughout the borough.
The Westwood Police Department announced that the work would begin Monday, Nov. 2, and continue throughout the week at several locations.
The affected streets are Bryant Place, Bogert Place, Lester Avenue and James Street.
Police Chief Michael R. Pontillo and the department advised residents and motorists that construction equipment may be present in the roadway, along with possible temporary traffic delays and parking restrictions.
Traffic control officers will be stationed at work zones and will help accommodate residents who need to reach their homes in affected areas, according to police.
Motorists should use caution when traveling through active construction areas and follow instructions from traffic control officers, construction personnel and posted signs.
The department thanked residents for their patience as the utility improvements continue.
"We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this important replacement work is ongoing," police said.
