WESTWOOD, NJ — Westwood residents planning to take the train to the New York Giants game have some important travel details to review before heading out.
NJ Transit has announced special rail service for the Giants' game against the Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 12.
Westwood Station serves NJ Transit's Pascack Valley Line. Riders can travel to Secaucus Junction and transfer to a Meadowlands train serving MetLife Stadium.
According to NJ Transit, Meadowlands service from Secaucus begins at 4:53 p.m., with the final stadium-bound train departing at 9:10 p.m.
Passengers must show an NJ Transit event ticket to receive a wristband before boarding.
NJ Transit warned that some connecting trains leave before Meadowlands service ends, including before midnight.
Riders traveling beyond Secaucus should check their return schedules carefully and allow additional time for connections.
The agency also reminded passengers that train schedules to and from New York have been significantly adjusted because of the Portal Bridge cutover.
PATH service will not be cross-honored during the event.
Westwood passengers can review the Pascack Valley Line schedules and Westwood Station information before traveling.
