Average Westwood Municipal Tax Bill Could Increase $116

The average Westwood taxpayer could pay $116 more in municipal taxes if officials approve a $14.2 million tax levy May 5.

The tax levy, the part of the budget funded by local taxes, comprises most of the borough’s $17.7 million budget, NorthJersey.com reported.

The average home is valued at $387,000.

More than $440,000 in police salaries have reportedly been cut and $73,000 has been slashed from the library’s budget.

A public hearing on the budget will be held at 8 p.m. in the municipal building May 5.
