Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DARYL MAHONEY (DOB: 2/27/1970; single; assistant custodian) of 28 Crescent Road, Wallington, New Jersey on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault By Sexual Contact and Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest was a result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

On Monday, March 15, 2021, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit received information that DARYL MAHONEY engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of thirteen on multiple occasions in Wallington, New Jersey. At that time, an investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. During the investigation, it was learned that MAHONEY sexually assaulted the juvenile on multiple occasions in Bergen County and in the State of New York. Also during the investigation, an additional victim was identified who was sexually assaulted by MAHONEY multiple times in Bergen County. The second victim was also under the age of thirteen at the time of the sexual assaults.

As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, March 18, 2021, DARYL MAHONEY was arrested at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, NJ and was charged with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(1), a 1st degree crime; two counts of Sexual Assault By Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a 2nd degree crime; and two counts of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a 2nd degree crime.

DARYL MAHONEY was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
