Gary Conkling beat out John Birkner 813 votes to 749 to win the Democratic nomination for Westwood mayor in Tuesday’s primary election.
Peter Grefrath beat out Raymond Arroyo to receive the Republican Party’s nomination for a council seat in Westwood.
Grefrath received 252 votes to Arroyo’s 191.

Scott Karcich beat out Abby Lundy 185 to 174 votes, respectively, to capture the Republican Party’s nomination for the Hillsdale council seat.
