Does The IRS Owe You Money? Check This List
Five locals are on the list of taxpayers entitled refunds

In a switch from the norm, the Internal Revenue Service is looking for taxpayers who are entitled to a refund. In New Jersey, 3,198 taxpayers missed out on their refund because the checks were deemed undeliverable by the U.S. Postal Service. Locally there are five people listed.
The IRS can reissue the refunds, which average $2,181, after taxpayers correct or update their addresses with the government agency.
"We want to make sure taxpayers get the money owed to them," said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman. "If you think you are missing a refund, the sooner you update your address information, the quicker you can get your money."

If you're on the list, you can call 800-829-1954 or use the Where's My Refund tool online. The tool lets taxpayers check the status of their refunds after submitting their Social Security number, filing status and amount of refund shown on their 2009 return. The tool will provide the status of their refund and, in some cases, instructions on how to resolve delivery problems.
