Don Giovanni

Bergen & Rockland's premiere opera company, Palisades Opera is presenting Mozart's timeless masterpiece Don Giovanni, in Italian (with English narration). The story of Don Giovanni centers around a wealthy, charming, but sociopathic womanizer.  The people he has wronged  seek their revenge against him, including the ghost of the man he murdered.  They will be presenting a semi-staged modern-day concert version of this magnificent opera.  The opera will feature opera singers of the highest caliber including Robert Prowse of Emerson,  Jennifer Cece Bellon and Jim Cagle of Westwood, David Perper of Mahwah, Hyong Sik Jo of Ft. Lee, Megan Candio of Jersey City, Nicole McQuade from New York City and other opera singers from the surrounding area. Staging is directed by Olga Shyp of Ft. Lee.

Sara Henry, dramatic mezzo soprano, will return to Grace Episcopal Church as Donna Elvira, after concertizing in Canada. She recently played a primary role in peace4paws’s Songs of Hope which was presented April 22nd in Westwood sung by the Palisades Opera singers. Palisades Opera founder, and peace4paws board member, Ronni Sarrett Lederman, who also sang in Songs of Hope, as pictured here with Freegle Beagle Juno, will play Zerlina. There will be no dogs in Don Giovanni, just opera singers. With musical direction by Chistopher Oldfather, who will be at the piano, this is a performance not to be missed. Come see NYC quality opera here in Westwood at literally a fraction of NYC prices! There is also a performance in nearby Nyack, NY on Friday June 8 at 7 pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 130 First Avenue, Nyack, NY 10960. Portions of the proceeds will benefit a local charity. Palisades Opera's founder, Soprano Ronni Sarrett Lederman has been nominated for the Rockland County Executive Arts Award. For more info please call Ms. Lederman at 845 548-9308.
