Advertising posters have been collected and valued as art since the advent of color lithography. The "father of the poster" Jules Cheret, studied in England before revolutionizing advertising in Paris with his skillful use of four colors looking more like twenty. His graceful women sold everything from bicycles to kerosene and continue to beguile us today. The art form gained new strength from movements such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Arts and Crafts, Expressionism, even mid century modern and Pop art, and artists such as Mucha, Broders, Cappiello and Warhol.

The exhibit and sale features over 150 posters ranging in size and price from 7" x 9" to 47” x 63” and from $150 to $15,000. Framing, shipping, delivery and hanging will be available.
