Ex-NY Giants Star Plaxico Burress Working On Deal In Tax Evasion Case: Report
Burress is the first N.J. resident to be charged under a new law makes issuing a bad electronic funds transfer a criminal offense.

Former NFL and NY Giant has pleaded not utility to willful failure to pay state tax and issuing a bad check or electronic funds transfer.
Thomas DiLullo, Burress’ attorney, said in court Monday that he expects a deal to get done with prosecutors in his tax evasion case, The Associated Press reported. However, he wouldn’t say whether the deal could help his client avoid jail time.
Burress, a Totowa resident, is the first person in the state to be charged under a law that makes issuing a bad electronic transfer a criminal offense, the report states.

The Trentonian reported that Burress, a Totowa resident, was initially offered a deal requiring him to pay $54,000 in restitution and serve a year in prison.
