Famed Ridgewood Chef Returns To The Kitchen At Grange Restaurant Friday

Joel Scheinzelt is brining his culinary creations to Grange Restaurant as its newest executive chef.

Scheinzelt is the former owner of Joel’s Malibu Kitchen in Ridgewood. Owner Brian Powell that Grange was a perfect match for his restaurant.

“Grange’s concept of casual, unpretentious fine dining and Joel’s style of playful cuisine made with serious ingredients and technique are a perfect match,” Powell said.

Scheinzelt enjoyed much success at the helm of his Ridgewood restaurant for 13 years. He thrived on creating food for people that made them feel good. He closed it in 2008.

He has expanded his brand and offerings by becoming a therapy chef and creating cuisine for people with special needs.

Scheinzelt’s menu will debut at the restaurant Friday, Powell said.
