Wesley Evans, 76, allegedly hit Tianhua Feng, 70, while she was walking on Piermont Avenue Monday, authorities said.

A Bergen County man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and hindering apprehension after he struck and severely injured a 70-year-old Hillsdale woman as she walked on Piermont Avenue, authorities said.

Wesley Evans, 76, of Old Tappan, was charged following an investigation conducted by the Hillsdale Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and the county Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Unit, said Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.

Evans allegedly struck Feng as she was walking near Pascack Valley High School at about 8 a.m. Monday, authorities said. Feng was found lying on the ground with serious injuries. She was at Hanckensack University Medical Center in stable condition Friday afternoon, Molinelli said.
