Man Wanted In Hillsdale For Eluding Traffic Stop After Car Thefts

Police have issued a warrant for a man after he fled a traffic stop, causing multiple car accidents, authorities said.

HILLSDALE, NJ — Hillsdale Police have issued a warrant for Khalil D. Pass after officials say he eluded arrest after being involved in multiple car thefts, causing two car accidents in the process.

According to police, the department received reports from the nearby Tri-Boro dispatch in reference to a man operating a "dark-colored" Ford Explorer with Florida registration. Police said the man had been recently involved with "several thefts from motor vehicles" in Woodcliff Lake.

A Hillsdale police officer located the vehicle shortly after receiving the dispatch, authorities said. The officer observed the man operating the car at a high rate of speed traveling south on Kinderkamack Road, police said.

According to police, the officer conducted a motor vehicle stop, but the driver of the Ford Explorer fled from the stop, causing two crashes and continuing to drive recklessly while fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported from the crashes.

As a result, police have identified Pass as a suspect and issued a warrant for eluding in the 2nd degree, they announced.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Hillsdale Police Detective Bureau as this incident in still under investigation.
