Pascack Valley Walk Sunday To Raise Awareness About Tourette's Syndrome

Mile-long walk will be followed by a new documentary about the condition.

HILLSDALE, N.J. — Teens Tackle Tourette’s, a local non-profit, is holding a Teens Tackle Tourette’s Walk at Pascack Valley High School Sunday morning.

The free, mile-long walk is designed to raise awareness about Tourette’s Syndrome and to help those who deal with the condition by funding research and examination initiatives.

The walk will be from 9 a.m. to noon and is free and open to the public.

It is estimated that 200,000 Americans have the most severe form of Tourette’s and a many as one in 100 people exhibit milder and less complex symptoms, including vocal tics.

Dr. Dave Levesqie is a Westwood resident and an advocate for those diagnosed with the condition. Levesque was interviewed for the documentary My, My Story, My Tourettes.” The documentary will be screened at the school after the walk.
