Port Authority Now Subject To OPRA Requests: Reports
Measure is the first post Bridgegate reform to be made into law.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is now subject to Open Public Records Act requests, the first post Bridgegate reform to be made into law.
The law is one of a series of measures that have received “nearly unanimous approval from lawmakers” in both New York and New Jersey, Politickernj.com reported.
The legislation was necessary because Port Authority is not considered an “agency” and, therefore, was not subject to OPRA’s government records requirement, the report states. Governor Chris Christie conditionally vetoed the measure in January, arguing that such a change could create “unnecessary conflicts” that would “frustrate disclosure without enhancing transparency.”
