Primoris Student & Team Are 1st in NJ Chemistry Science League

Euhiyun (David) Choi was first in the NJ Science League's Chemistry II Division and helped Primoris Academy's team take first place.

For the second year in a row, a student from Primoris Academy in Westwood has taken first place in the New Jersey Science League Chemistry II Competition. Euhiyun (David) Choi, of Ridgewood, competed against over three hundred students from throughout New Jersey to take first place. Primoris student Clara Kim, of Oradell, was the winner in 2018.

Euhiyun’s high score helped the Primoris Academy team place first overall, topping last year’s second place finish. Euhiyun and teammates Andrew Markov, of Cliffside Park, and Minkyu Son, of Cresskill, received plaques for scoring in the top ten percent. Also contributing to Primoris Academy’s high score was Andrew Krapvin of Fair Lawn. One hundred and sixteen teams competed. Primoris Academy was the only school in Bergen County to score in the top five.

Primoris Academy is a non-profit, private school in Westwood, NJ. It opened in 2013 and has already won many awards in both STEM and the humanities. Team members are excited about returning next year to defend their title.
