See '30 Reasons Not To Be In A Play'
Westwood Middle School students are set to perform the comedy this weekend
students will be performing a comedy by Alan Haehnel tonight and tomorrow titled "30 Reasons Not To Be in a Play."
Director Casha Eliason has led the cast of 30 and crew of 50 students for the past two and a half months and they are ready for opening night at tonight at 7 p.m.
Eliason said the show, which highlights everything that could go wrong in a school play, is "very silly" with physical humor and a lot going on. "I like to do plays that are very entertainnig and funny," she said.

She also chose "30 Reasons" because it has a large cast. "Working with middle school kids, I feel I should choose plays that involve a lot of students," she said. "There's no clear lead. All the kids get to participate."
Eliason has been leading the Junior Performing Arts Club (JPAC) since last year when the group was at the junior/senior high school. With the district restructuring, this year JPAC includes sixth- and seventh-graders at the middle school.

The director said she thinks the audience will like the show and recognize that the students are enjoying themselves on stage. "It's going to be a fun show and I hope a lot of people come out for it," she said.
Performances are scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at noon and 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. E-mail Eliason at celiason@wwrsd.org or call her at 201-664-5560 ext. 6110 for ticket information and questions.
