Westwood educator Barnett Goldman receives Exemplary Service Award from Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies (BCHSJS)

The Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies (BCHSJS), Bergen County’s only weekly Hebrew High School, will hold its Annual Gala Dinner on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. This year’s gala, the school’s largest fundraiser, will honor honor Westwood educator Barnett Goldman with the school's Exemplary Service Award.
Barnett is a Temple Emanuel of Pascack Valley member, teacher and parent who has served the Jewish community in many capacities, including sitting on Temple Emanuel’s Board as Youth Chair and Co-Chair of Continuing Education. In addition to teaching at BCHSJS on Sundays, he is a fourth-grade teacher at Brookside Elementary School in Westwood. Barnett has served in a leadership capacity on many BCHSJS projects, including organizing Shabbatonim, overnights, field trips and special events. He has led the school’s Jewish Volunteer Corp on visits to senior citizen residences and Young Leadership students to Israel to visit and tour with an Israeli cohort of students. Barnett also works at URJ Crane Lake Camp in the summer.
