Westwood Man Charged With Attempted Murder
Breaking: Troy C. Jones, 72, allegedly attacked 2 women inside his Westwood home Tuesday.

WESTWOOD, NJ — A borough man was charged with two counts of attempted murder after he stabbed one woman several times and assaulted another inside his home Tuesday, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced.
Troy C. Jones, 72, was charged with two counts each of first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Calo said in a news release.
The prosecutor's office received information Tuesday that two women were attacked inside Jones' Westwood home, Calo said.

The prosecutor's office Major Crimes Unit and the Westwood Police Department investigated and learned that Jones stabbed one victim several times and physically assaulted another, Calo said. The women were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with serious injuries.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Office has Jones in custody pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
