12 Cats, Kittens Dumped at Woodbridge Animal Shelter
Someone dumped the crate at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday outside the shelter doors.

Woodbridge, NJ - At 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday morning, someone dumped a crate full of cats and kittens outside the Woodbridge Animal Shelter. The cats and kittens inside, of varying ages, were terrified, shelter workers say, and the animals were covered in urine and feces. Many of the kittens are very sick and the ones not sick yet will likely be soon from cross-contamination, shelter volunteers say. That's the cats and kittens inside the crate, above.
This is not the correct way to surrender unwanted pets, the shelter says, and is currently reviewing their own security video as well as the video from the company across the street to see who might have left the crate.
The Woodbridge Animal Shelter says it will cost at minimum between $2,000 and $3,000 to care for the cats and kittens and it is looking for volunteers who can foster the cats once they have been cleared by a vet. The volunteers will need to safely quarantine the kittens to avoid any cross-contamination.
