WOODBRIDGE, VA — Two men have died and two more are hospitalized following a shooting at an apartment in Woodbridge on Friday, police said.

Prince William County police said officers answered a call reporting the shooting at the 14700 block of Birchdale Avenue shortly before 2:30 p.m. When they arrived they found one man dead outside the apartment and three victims inside.

The three inside received immediate first aid until they were taken to hospitals; the man who was killed was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Information on their identities was not released Friday evening.

One of the men later died at the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained during the shooting, police said; the other two remain hospitalized, but police did not have information Friday evening on the extent of their injuries.

Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random attack, and the suspect is not believed to be in the area.

The investigation found there were a group of people inside the home when one of the occupants began shootings.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau are investigating to determine what led up to the shooting and are seeking to speak with anyone who has information as to what occurred.
