2 People Killed Early Monday On Rt. 9 In Old Bridge: Prosecutor

Breaking: Two people were killed early Monday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Rt. 9 at Spring Valley Road.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Two people were killed early Monday morning, Feb. 25, in a car crash on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge Township, the Middlesex County prosecutor's office confirmed to Patch.

The crash involved three vehicles total. The fatal accident happened on Rt. 9 northbound near the intersection of Spring Valley Road, reported 511nj.org, a website that monitors New Jersey traffic accidents.

It happened around 6 a.m. today and backed up traffic on Rt. 9 for several hours this morning, both north and southbound according to News 12 New Jersey.

Details are still hazy and Patch is waiting for more information from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office, such as the victims' identities and how the crash occurred. The county prosecutor is handling the investigation.
