500+ Lost Power Friday Morning in Woodbridge Township

Wylie Street and Demorest Avenue in Avenel was the largest pocket without power.

Woodbridge, NJ - The snow came and went quickly, but it caused power outages for more than 500 people in Woodbridge Township Friday morning, PSE&G reported.

The largest pocket was in Avenel, with 508 customers out in the area of Wylie Street and Demorest Avenue. That was followed by 40 people out on Woodbine Avenue at St. Georges Road in Colonia. Other outages were reported on Green Street in Iselin, along Lyman Avenue in Woodbridge, and along Rahway Avenue.

Power was restored by 11:45 a.m. for most, PSE&G said. Snow-laden tree branches falling on wires may be to blame, although PSE&G did not specify a cause. Meanwhile, hundreds lost power in Monmouth County.
