50 People Now Homeless In Fire At Woodbridge Center Apartments

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A fire tore through the Woodbridge Center Plaza apartment complex in the early-morning hours of Friday, said the town.

The fire started shortly before 6 a.m. in apartment building #23, and more than 50 residents have been displaced and are now homeless. Nobody was killed or injured in the fire.

The Woodbridge Community Charity Fund is now accepting donations of cash, checks and gift cards, said Mayor John McCormac.

The mayor said the greatest need right now is for monetary donations and gift cards redeemable at grocery stores and wholesale/retail outlets.

No donations of clothing, household items or furniture will be accepted.

Checks should be made payable to the Woodbridge Community Charity Fund, c/o Office of the Mayor. Donations of cash, checks and gift cards can be dropped-off at the Mayor’s Office, (3rd floor), Woodbridge Municipal Building, One Main Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
