WOODBRIDGE, NJ — There will be a public Zoning Board hearing Thursday night, May 7 on the church that would like to open at 400 Green Street, in what is currently an empty building across from Woodbridge Crossing and the Woodbridge Center mall.
Zoning Board meetings are held at 6 p.m. in the council chambers of Woodbridge town hall.
They are seeking several variances, which they need to get approved by the Woodbridge Zoning Board because that area is zoned for retail only, and not a house of worship.
The group that seeks to open the church there is called World Liberation Ministries.
According to its website, World Liberation Ministries is a Christian religious group. They currently operate a church at 1111 East Elizabeth Avenue in Linden and now seek to expand to Woodbridge, where they want to convert 400 Green Street into a 156-seat church. There will also be space for community outreach services.
400 Green Street used to house the Wonder Bread Outlet, where you could buy pastries and breads at discounted prices. But the Wonder Bread Outlet has been closed for some time now.
