PERTH AMBOY, NJ — Perth Amboy will have a fireworks and drone show for Independence Day Thursday, July 2 this year.
The show will be for America's 250th anniversary with a major celebration on the Perth Amboy waterfront. It's called the “Celebrate Stars & Stripes: Drone & Fireworks Show" and festival. In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will move to Friday, July 3.
Held on Sadowski Parkway, it is expected to draw thousands of residents and visitors for a special evening of live music, food, artisan vendors and one of the region's most ambitious aerial displays. There will be more than 250 drones in the drone show!
The festival – free and open to the public – will open at 6 p.m. A boat parade will line up on the Raritan Bay at 8 p.m., followed by a 250-drone aerial show at 9:15 p.m. and a fireworks display over the Arthur Kill at 9:30 p.m.
“The 250th anniversary is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone for our country, and Perth Amboy is going to celebrate it the way we celebrate everything — as one community, on our waterfront,” said Mayor Helmin Caba. “Bringing a 250-drone show to Perth Amboy for America's 250th anniversary is exactly the kind of bold, memorable moment that all residents will enjoy.”
Mayor Caba emphasized that the event is designed for residents of all ages.
“Whether you're bringing your kids, grabbing dinner from a food truck, or just finding a spot along the water to watch the show, this night is for everyone in Perth Amboy,” he said. “Events like this are about more than entertainment — they're about pride in our City and pride in our country.”
The event is presented by the City of Perth Amboy, the Perth Amboy Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ), the Perth Amboy Business Improvement Corporation (PA-BIC) and Celebrate Our Stars & Stripes.
“I want to thank our partners and sponsors who are helping make this possible,” Mayor Caba added. “This celebration doesn't happen without the businesses, organizations, and volunteers who believe in investing in Perth Amboy's future.”
