Christina has a degree in Psychology, and is committed to the overall health and well being of each individual, and strives to bring a positive approach to her teaching methods and style. Her passion is to empower young girls and women to have confidence and self-esteem while promoting her platform: Substance Abuse Awareness and Prevention where she was able to use her knowledge as a Prevention Specialist, as well as working for the NCADD of Middlesex County, Inc. She is also a co-founder of an Arts empowering Non-Profit, The Heart of the Arts Project, Inc. where the love and passion for the arts and empowerment go hand in hand.

Christina’s husband, Eric Samson, Co-Owner / Artistic Director studied with teachers that taught styles from the Hip Hop culture as well as from teachers that taught various styles that were relevant in the industry. Eric found a passion for educating the next generation and focuses now on giving back what he has learned from his professional career and has been teaching for the past 10 years in NY, NJ as well as in California. Now he is looking forward to building a strong Hip Hop program that educates dancers on the history as well as the differences between the various styles represented in today’s culture. Eric is the director of the well established Beat Club Crew, a group of talented hip hop dancers who perform throughout NY and NJ. Several of them have been on T.V. on shows such as America’s Got Talent, The Today Show and SYTYCD.

Eric and Christy are looking to build a studio with a family oriented environment where they have put together a staff that has a profound respect for each other and appreciates each teacher's genre and style.

The FUNKtion Dance Complex is located at Mill Plaza 2595 Woodbridge Avenue Edison, NJ 08817. Be sure to look out for a larger facility set to open for the fall of 2013 also in the Central NJ area.
