Armed Robbery At Woodbridge Jewelry Store; Employees Thrown To Ground

A jewelry store in Woodbridge's Iselin area was robbed at gunpoint Friday; video released by the store shows employees forced to the ground.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A jewelry store in the Iselin section of Woodbridge was robbed at gunpoint Friday.

Terrifying video released by the store shows masked robbers following someone as they walk inside, and throwing store employees down onto the ground.

Some of the store employees did sustain injuries, none of which were serious or life threatening, said Woodbridge Police.

The armed robbery occurred at 7:45 p.m. Friday at Virani Jewelers on Oak Tree Road in Iselin, said Woodbridge Police. You can watch store security video released by the store, which shows the entire robbery as it unfolds: https://www.reddit.com/r/newje...

It was nearing closing time and two employees were inside the front of the store, sitting and chatting. That was when a group of armed men wearing masks and gloves followed an employee inside through the front door of the business.

Store security footage shows the some of the men violently throwing store employees to the floor, telling them to stay down on the floor and then smashing numerous glass display cases. They removed the jewelry inside before running out of the store.

The total amount of loss has yet to be determined.
