Auditions Aug. 12 For Middlesex County’s Plays-in-the-Park

Participants must be at least 16 years old and sing 16 bars of music.

EDISON, NJ — Middlesex County’s Plays-in-the-Park is holding auditions for its fall 2026 children’s production of "Curious George: The Golden Meatball" at 6 p.m. Aug. 12.

Auditions will be held in the Stephen J. Capestro theatre located inside Roosevelt Park in Edison.

Auditions seek to find roles for George, the Man with the Yellow Hat, Chef Pisghetti, Phinneas, Netti and Frankie Sidecar. All actors, except George, will play multiple roles throughout the production.

You don't need to register in advance; simply show up. The show will take place on October 10, 11, 17, 18 and 24.

Participants should:

  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Prepare to sing approximately 16 bars of music. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key, marked with any cuts. An accompanist will be provided.
  • Bring a headshot and resume (if applicable).
  • Bring a list of all scheduling conflicts from September to October 2026.

Plot: With every swing and flip, "Curious George: The Golden Meatball" takes the audience through George’s fun-filled adventure to enter the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest after discovering his friend, Chef Pisghetti, has vowed to never cook again.
