Avoid Rt. 440 North In Perth Amboy Due To Crash
Rt. 440 headed towards the Outerbridge Crossing is still heavily backed up and it's affecting all traffic in and out of Staten Island:
PERTH AMBOY, NJ — As of 5:20 p.m., Rt. 440 and the surrounding ramps have been reopened in Perth Amboy.
440 was shut down for more than five hours Wednesday due to a crash.
As of 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Perth Amboy Police are telling drivers to avoid the area of Rt. 440 north near the High Street exit due to a motor vehicle accident.

They are also telling drivers to avoid Amboy Ave. near 440/Outerbridge Crossing due to the car crash. "Avoid the area if possible and plan an alternate route," said Perth Amboy Police.
The extent and details of the crash are unknown. These are major thoroughfares in and out of Perth Amboy.
