Woodbridge Main Library

Join us at the Woodbridge Main Library, October 29 at 6:30 PM for a presentation that will provide families with a practical roadmap for protecting their assets, preparing for the unexpected, funding future goals, and creating a lasting financial legacy. Bringing together estate planning, life insurance, and college funding strategies, the program will show how these tools can work together rather than being planned separately.
Topics will include:

Building the Legal Foundation: Understanding the essential estate planning documents every family should consider, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.

Wills vs. Trusts: When a will may be sufficient, when a trust may provide additional protection, and how trusts can help families avoid probate, maintain privacy, and control how and when beneficiaries receive an inheritance.

Protecting Your Children and Heirs: Choosing guardians, naming appropriate beneficiaries, protecting inheritances for minor or young-adult children, and avoiding common mistakes that can unintentionally put inherited assets at risk.

Life Insurance as Part of the Estate Plan: How life insurance can provide income replacement, liquidity, debt protection, education funding, and an inheritance—and why beneficiary designations must be coordinated with the estate plan.

Smart College-Funding Strategies: Exploring 529 plans and other approaches to saving for education while considering financial aid, taxes, flexibility, and the family's broader financial goals.

Coordinating College and Estate Planning: What happens to college savings if a parent or grandparent dies, how 529 accounts should be owned and succeeded, and how life insurance and trusts can help ensure that a child's education remains funded. We will discuss how parents can combine 529 plans with life insurance on both the parents and the child as part of a comprehensive college-funding strategy, while using trusts and proper beneficiary planning to protect education funds and preserve wealth for the next generation. (Arif Aziz, a licernsed Insurance Advisor who we work with will cover this part)

Avoiding the Beneficiary-Designation Trap: Why assets such as life insurance, retirement accounts, and certain financial accounts may pass outside a will—and how inconsistent beneficiary designations can undermine an otherwise well-designed estate plan.

Creating a Family Wealth Blueprint: Bringing legal documents, insurance, education savings, investments, and beneficiary designations together into one coordinated strategy designed to protect the family today and preserve wealth for the next generation.

Registration is required! Please register online or by calling 732-634-4450.https://woodbridge-nj.libcal.com/event/17137861

Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to create a coordinated Wills and Wealth Blueprint—one that addresses not only who receives their assets when they die, but also how to protect their family during life, prepare for college costs, and transfer wealth intentionally to the next generation.

Saddle up for a uniquely South Jersey adventure! Auburn Road Vineyards, Cowtown Rodeo, Bullhide Brewery and Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters have teamed up to create Covered Wagon Tours, an unforgettable experience that combines the beauty of South Jersey’s vineyards and horse country with wine, craft beer, Western shopping and great food.
Beginning at Auburn Road Vineyards, guests will get a taste of the region with a wine tasting and vineyard tour before climbing aboard a covered wagon for a leisurely journey through the vineyard and the expansive horse and cattle pastures surrounding Cowtown. Along the way, a tour guide will narrate the experience as guests take in scenic views, watch horses gallop through the fields and see cattle grazing across the hills.
The wagon journey continues to Bullhide Brewery, where guests will tour the brewery and sample a selection of locally crafted microbrews made onsite. From there, it’s just a short trip next door to Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters and The Marketplace, where visitors can browse Western boots, apparel and accessories and perhaps even find the perfect custom cowboy hat.
Then it’s back aboard the covered wagon for the return journey to Auburn Road Vineyards, where guests can relax with another glass of wine and enjoy the vineyard’s wood-fired pizza. The approximately three-hour experience is $35 per person and includes a wine tasting at Auburn Road Vineyards and a microbrew beer tasting at Bullhide Brewery. Tours are weather permitting, with ticket fees refunded if a tour is canceled due to inclement weather. Well-behaved and closely supervised children are welcome, making Covered Wagon Tours an experience that can be enjoyed by families as well as adults.
Guests are encouraged to make a separate reservation at Auburn Road Vineyards if they would like to reserve a table before or after their wagon tour to enjoy wine and wood-fired pizza.
*Available Tour Dates are subject to change. Please see website for availability.
