Car Drove Under Truck, Driver Saved By Woodbridge Firefighters

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A car drove under a FedEx truck Wednesday morning in Woodbridge, and Woodbridge firefighters had to rescue the driver.

The accident happened on Homestead Avenue.

"Earlier this morning, members from Avenel, Port Reading and Woodbridge operated at a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Homestead Avenue," the Woodbridge Twp. Professional Firefighters Association posted to their Facebook page.

"Members arrived to a passenger vehicle pinned under a box truck requiring a prolonged extrication. Due to the saddle tank being ruptured members from Middlesex County Haz-Mat were also requested to the scene to mitigate an active diesel fuel leak."

The driver was able to be safely extricated and he was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS. His condition is unknown.
