Carteret, NJ - The Carteret police director was charged with DWI after he crashed his car Tuesday night in Old Bridge, reports NJ.com.
Ronald Franz had only been on the job for about three weeks; he was hired Feb. 1 as the town’s police director at a pay rate of $70,000 a year.
He crashed a 2015 Lexus on Route 9 near Ferry Road in Old Bridge at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Old Bridge officers who responded said Franz appeared drunk and they could smell alcohol on his breath.
