The Woodbridge Public Library will be honoring Black History Month with virtual programs and free in-person movies.

Celebrate Black History Month with the Woodbridge Public Library!
Visit the Woodbridge Public Library locations to view book displays honoring the literary achievements of black authors. The Woodbridge Main Library will be featuring movies honoring black history month throughout February every Friday at 2PM. Light refreshments will be served!
You are also welcomed to join the library virtually over Zoom for 2 great programs. On February 8 at 3:30PM they will host the American Labor Museum as they survey the life and achievements of, in the words of the editors of Ebony magazine, "one of the most phenomenally gifted Americans." An athlete, actor, singer, lawyer, scholar and activist, Paul Robeson rose to prominence at a time when segregation was legal. Before long, he was an advocate for the civil rights of people around the world. This program will consider the highlights of Paul Robeson's extraordinary life, with time for Q & A. Next, they will be joined by immediate Past President of the African American Historical and Genealogical Society, New Jersey Chapter- (AAHGS NJC) Eugene "Gene" Armstead, Jr. on February 17 at 7:00PM. The program will begin with a spotlight on genealogy's significance. Then go into a brief review of how to get started with your own ancestry and introduce participants to some methods to get past those dreaded brick walls, and how DNA can be incorporated into your search.
