Colonia Middle School Teacher Wins $500 Lidl Gift Card Every Month
A teacher at Colonia Middle School in Woodbridge just won free groceries for a year from Lidl supermarket!
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A teacher at Colonia Middle School in Woodbridge just won free groceries for a year from Lidl supermarket, as part of their highly-coveted “Free Groceries for a Year” giveaway.
This month, Amy Metzel was announced as Lidl's New Jersey winner. Metzel is a Special Education teacher at Colonia Middle School, teaching sixth and seventh grade language arts.
There was one winner across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Long Island, for a total of three winners. For every month of 2023, through January 2024, all three winners will each receive a $500 gift card every month to cover their grocery bill. In total, she will receive $6,000 in free Lidl groceries for the year.

“With inflation, things have been tough at the supermarket, but this has made things a ‘Lidl’ less stressful on our family,” said Metzel. “Thank you to this amazing company!”
Metzel also vowed to donate a portion of it to her local food bank, We Feed Woodbridge. She also plans to use the first gift card to support her school’s goal of raising 214lbs of food as part of Woodbridge's Have a Heart February Food Drive, going on right now.
