Colonia Woman Killed In Head-On Crash With Iselin Man

A fatal crash occurred at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday on Rt. 27 north near Deepa Auto Repair.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Colonia woman was killed in a crash Wednesday night in Woodbridge, announced Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Woodbridge Police Director Joseph Nisky.

The crash occurred at 10:36 p.m. on Rt. 27 north near Deepa Auto Repair. It was a two-car crash and both drivers are from Woodbridge Twp.

A 2013 Hyundai Tucson struck a 2025 Nissan Altima head on, said police. The Tucson was driven by a 28-year-old man from Iselin, and the Altima was driven by Amber Torres, a 22-year-old Colonia woman. She had a passenger in her front seat, a 21-year-old woman also from Colonia.

The passenger and the Iselin man suffered serious injuries and were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and the man currently remains in critical condition.

However, Torres died at JFK Hospital.

Police did not release any additional information as to what caused the head-on collision.
