DUI Checkpoints in Woodbridge

Here's where and when the checkpoints will be:

Woodbridge, NJ - Unfortunately, ”buzzed” and drunk driving often go hand-in-hand with the holiday season.

That’s why Woodbridge police will be setting up DUI checkpoints starting this Friday night, Dec. 11 and continuing through Jan. 1 in the township. Police will be conducting DWI roadblocks on Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 on Rt. 184 and Rt. 9, officials announced.

“Impaired driving traditionally increases by nearly 10%,” this time of year, said Woodbridge Sgt. Eric Nelson. Police will be stopping cars on those roads at those times, looking for drivers who’ve had too much to drink. Last year, 22% of all fatal car accidents in New Jersey were alcohol-related, he said.
