East Brunswick Mayor to Resign to Become Woodbridge Judge

East Brunswick's mayor to become Woodbridge's newest municipal judge.

East Brunswick, NJ - The mayor of East Brunswick, David Stahl is expected to resign soon so he can take a position as municipal judge in Woodbridge, NJ.com reports. Stahl famously switched from Democrat to Republican in 2013 so he could run for Barbara Buono’s former state Senate seat; however, he lost that race.

Stahl’s appointment as a judge has not been approved yet, but East Brunswick is already preparing for his departure. Who will replace him as East Brunswick mayor? The township Council will choose who gets to serve out the rest of Stahl’s term and the position of mayor will come up for election in November.

Until the Council chooses a new mayor, East Brunswick’s current business administrator James White will serve as acting mayor.
